SPN Orchard

Did you know that there is an orchard at SPN? Last spring, 5th graders at SPN worked with the folks from Giving Grove to plant an orchard. We have apple trees, pear trees, Jujubees, as well as raspberry plants, and an instectuary bed. Students will begin learning about life science in the spring but we will spend some time learning about how to take care of our orchard this fall. There are lots of things we need to know in order to help our trees stay healthy. When it doesn't rain, students will need to water our plants. In a few years we will be able to share fruit from our orchard with the whole neighborhood!
